Los Alamitos, California's Gram Ludwig shined in the championship game of the Mustang-9 World Series, going 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs, a double and a run scored. It was Los Alamitos' first Mustang-9 World Series title.
Mustang World Series (Youngsville, Louisiana)
Zachary Rogozik had a monster day for Mustang World Series champion Santa Clarita (Wm. S. Hart), California in its first game vs. Youngsville. The youngster went 3-for-3 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Hart won its record-tying fifth Mustang World Series title in 2017.
Bronco-11 World Series (Chesterfield, Virginia)
Zion Rose was incredible for his Chicago (AFCA Elite), Illinois squad at the 2017 Bronco-11 World Series. Not only did he pick up the win and pitch a complete game in his team's semifinal victory over Mexico, but he also hit five HRs in the tournament, including a pivotal three-run homer in the championship game against Simi Valley, California.
Bronco World Series (Los Alamitos, California)
Jose Rosa was a hitting machine for Bronco World Series Champion Levittown, Puerto Rico. In four games, he recorded eight hits (six of which were HRs), 15 RBI and 10 runs scored. Levittown's title gave Puerto Rico the most Bronco World Series championships of any U.S. state or international country.
Pony-13 World Series (Whittier, California)
Ru Taek was sensational for his Seoul, Korea team at the Pony-13 World Series, both at the plate and on the base paths. In Taek's first two games, he went 5-for-7 with three RBI & four runs scored. In his next two games vs. Perris, California, he knocked a three-RBI triple and a grandslam, respectively, and in the championship game, he scored a valuable insurance run, while adding his third triple of the tournament. Seoul won the nation of Korea & the Asia-Pacific Zone its first-ever Pony-13 World Series title.
Pony World Series (Washington, Pennsylvania)
Covina, California's James Jimenez had one for the ages in the championship game of the Pony World Series against Seoul, Korea. Not only did he pitch seven innings of one run ball with nine Ks, but he gave Covina a 3-1 lead it would not relinquish in the 8th inning when he knocked a two-run homerun over the centerfield fence.
Colt World Series (Lafayette, Indiana)
First-time Colt World Series participant and European Zone Champion the Netherlands blazed through its competition in Lafayette, Indiana, marking the first time a team from PONY's European Zone had ever won a World Series event. It was certainly a historic year for the Dutch.
Palomino World Series (Santa Clara, California)
Los Gatos, California etched its name in the PONY record books with its first-ever Palomino World Series title in the 38th year of the event, after defeating Santa Clara (Soldiers), California in the championship game 8-5.
SOFTBALL
East Zone Softball Nationals (12U) (Sterling, Virginia)
A cornerstone for the Horsham, Pennsylvania Banshee's offense, Sofia Peterson electrified her team's offense in the championship game of the Bronco 12U East Zone Girls Softball Nationals by going 2-for-3 with five RBIs and two runs scored.
East Zone Softball Nationals (18U) (Sterling, Virginia)
East Bridgewater, Massachusetts' Drifters' Cassie Graca started off the Palomino 18U East Zone Girls Softball championship game with a bang -- a double to centerfield that eventually led to her scoring the first run in her team's 10-run rule victory. Graca also walked and scored another run in the win.
