Pony League World Series : Game 18

Game 18 of the Pony League World Series has concluded.  This game was the second of two games today.  The participants were Riverside (Victoria), CA and Miami (Tamiami), FL.  Final score of the game was Riverside (Victoria), CA (15) and Miami (Tamiami), FL (5).

This eliminates Miami (Tamiami), FL from the tournament.

GAME RECAP

Riverside, CA and Tamiami, FL reversed roles from their match-up last night. Riverside earned a place in tomorrow’s Championship game after defeating Tamiami 15-5 in six innings of play.
Glen Guardamando hit a 2-run home over centerfield to give Riverside a 3-0 lead. Gabriel Clark followed with his first of two 3-run homers in the contest to make the score 6-1.
Riverside maintained the lead throughout the ball game with powerhouse hitting. Clark ripped his second 3-run homerun of the nights in the 5th inning, marking his third homerun of the World Series.
Cody Palmer finished with two doubles. Clark, Mike Darr, Jeremy Goldenetz and Derek Van Billiard contributed one double each.
Tamiami’s David Jervis hit his fourth homerum of the series and Anthony Tucker added a 2-run homer out of right field. Javier Herrera hit one double as well.
Riverside will face Chinese Taipei in the 2009 Pony League World Series Championship game tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
