Game 9 of the Pony League World Series has concluded. This game was the first of two games today. The participants were Chinese Taipei, Taiwan and Bay City (Bay County), MI. After a rain delay in the 5th inning as well as a lightning delay in the 7th inning, conclusion of the game had Chinese Taipei, Taiwan (13) and Bay City (Bay County), MI (9).
This eliminates Bay City (Bay County), MI from the Pony League World Series.

Chinese Taipei eliminated Bay County, MI 13-9 in an action packed game 9 of the Pony League World Series.
Chinese Taipei took the lead in the third inning in a strong offensive attack. Cheng Nan Chang hit a double and Ta Kuan Lai cracked a double down the first baseline to bring in a run. Yu Cheng Chang, Ispalidav Lanihu, Chih Chieh Su, Cheng Nan Chang and Sheng Chieh Lin each added a run in the third inning to bring Chinese Taipei ahead 5-3.
Po Sheng Wang, Chin Hsien Ho and Ispalidav Lanihu each contributed a double in the win.
Bay County’s Jake Warren hit a two-run homerun over the centerfield fence to make the score 11-9 in the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough to keep them alive in the tournament.
Chinese Taipei will play again on Wednesday August 12 at 5:30. The loss knocked Bay County out of the tournament for good. |
