Pony League World Series : Game 8

Game 8 of the Pony League World Series has concluded.  This game was the third of three games today.  The participants were Miami (Tamiami), FL. and Mon-Yough, PA.  At the conclusion of the game in the 7th inning the score was Miami (Tamiami), FL (8) - Mon-Yough, PA (7).

This eliminates Mon-Yough, PA from the Pony League World Series.

Despite a valiant last-ditch effort, Tamiami, FL defeated Mon-Yough 8-7 in game 8 of the Pony League World Series.

Javier Harerra and Luis Touron each hit a 2-run homer in the third and fourth innings, respectively. Alex Fernandez hit a triple in the fifth inning.

Mon-Yough refused to let go as they tried desperately to battle back in the seventh inning. Dom Francia stepped up to the plate and cracked a grand slam out of the park. Francia’s grand slam is the 31st in the history of the Pony League World Series.

Mon-Yough has been eliminated from the tournament and Tamiami continues play on Tuesday at 5:30 against New Bedford, Ma.
