Pony League World Series : Game 3

Game 3 of the Pony League World Series has concluded.  This game was the first of three games today.  The participants were New Bedford, MA and Miami (Tamiami), FL.  At the conclusion of the game in the 7th inning the score was New Bedford, MA (6) - Miami (Tamiami), FL (4)

New Bedford, MA advances to the winner’s bracket in the second round of the Pony League World Series after defeating Tamiami, FL 6-4.
 
New Bedford didn’t waste any time setting the pace as they took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Javier Lozanda scored the first run on a wild pitch; he followed up with another run in the 2nd inning as well. Matt Farnworth, Jonathan Finnerty, Mike Lajoie, Nate Dean and Marcel DePina each added one run in the victory.

Farnsworth and Dean ended the contest with two RBI each. Andrew McCann is credited with the win on the mound.
Tamiami’s David Jervis cleared the fence for his first homerun of the series.
 
New Bedford will play Riverside, CA tomorrow in the first game at 3:00 pm. Tamiami continues through the loser’s bracket against Mon-Yough tomorrow evening at 8:00 pm.
